Taste of Litchfield Hills

TasteOfLitchfieldAfter a one-year hiatus, A Taste of The Litchfield Hills is back on track! The 25th anniversary of this popular food and wine festival will be held on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 4-6, 2010, at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn.

A Taste of The Litchfield Hills, Connecticut's oldest food and wine festival, has attracted thousands of visitors annually since 1985 to enjoy delicious dishes, outstanding wine, live entertainment and upscale shopping. From traditional New England fare to international specialties, the menu at A Taste of The Litchfield Hills 2010 will feature a variety of house specialties prepared by chefs from local restaurants, bistros and other purveyors of fine foods and individually served in grazing-sized portions.

Sunday in the Park Car Show

HistoricLogoFinalLime Rock’s Sunday in the Park was in fact inspired by what was initially seen as a problem: a 1959 court injunction that forbids cars racing on the track on Sundays – even vintage and historic cars! Sunday in the Park consists of two major components; the Lime Rock Concours, and the Gathering of the Clubs. This year’s Honored Collector is Joe Freeman, who has undertaken to bring, show and race at least four cars from his splendid collection.

Milk Beats Tequila

ALMSwinnerMilkWow, it was hot in a whole bunch of ways at Lime Rock Park on Saturday. The ALMS Northeast Grand Prix was here for its seventh year, and under blazing skies and – yes, it was pretty darn humid – it was a cracker of a race

Friday qualifying was a wet one

38646_417518669002_44115954002_4752329_2811041_nYeah, so it drizzled for a lot of the day – but that made practice and qualifying really fun to watch. Every series or class with the exception of the Cooper Tire Prototype Lites championship qualified in the afternoon, and for the big show – the ALMS Northeast Grand Prix – David Brabham in the Tequila Patron HPD ARX01c and Klaus Graf in the Porsche RS Spyder wenta at it hammer and tongs in the wet for pole.
