Who won the final Monthly Mega-Prize?

Lime Rock’s biggest contest in its history, the Monthly Mega-Prize Giveaway, ended December 31 when we randomly drew the name of the final prize winner.

And what was that last grand prize?

A Lifetime Pass to Lime Rock Park.

The only one in existence.

It’s even inheritable!

The lucky winner was David Dyson of West Hartford, Conn.

Each month from March through November, we randomly drew names out of Lime Rock’s electronic “hat” of email addresses, which had come from everybody who had entered the Monthly Mega-Prize Giveaway drawing. Great prizes such as racing schools, BMW driving schools, Yankees and Red Sox tickets, a Lime Rock Drivers Club personal “track day” and weekend getaways were won by Lime Rock fans from coast to coast.

All told, 10 mega-prizes worth more than $20,000 were won.

Lime Rock is especially proud to award Mr. Dyson, a professional musician (, the unique Lifetime Pass. David has long been long been a community leader, having led the major fundraiser for Hartford’s Tabor House (a residence for the AIDS-afflicted homeless) for 15 years. In recognition of his volunteerism and community commitment, Bank of America awarded David Dyson its annual Local Hero Award in 2009.

Our thanks to Lime Rock’s sponsors and partners who made the whole Monthly Mega-Prize Giveaway a wonderful success…

Sunday in the Park 2010 Concours Winners

The “Sunday in the Park” Concours, as part of Historic Festival 28, saw 197 entrants vie for awards in 24 classes on Sunday and at the end of the day Chairman Smith and Sunday in the Park Concours Director Kent Bain presented the awards beneath beautiful skies and a large, appreciative crowd. There were a number of spectacular vehicles present and Smith was adamant that the quality of the field made for “wonderfully difficult” decisions amongst the judges, especially regarding Best in Show.
