September 3-6, 2010 – Labor Day weekend

REMEMBER: No dogs allowed.

One of Connecticut’s finest Labor Day traditions is the September 3-6 Historic Festival. Lime Rock Park has put a huge amount of effort into making this 28th edition even bigger and better than last year’s record-breaking event.

It’s already got the largest number of race entrants ever – there are 10 groups of 30+ cars each, and each group will race four times! – plus you’ll see seven incredible cars from the collection of Joe Freeman, one of the most respected vintage experts in North America. And world-famous automotive photographer and journalist John Lamm is this year’s Special Guest, who will be in the paddock all weekend.

Look at these terrific groups:

Group 1, Pre-war Sports and Racing Cars:  Motorsport Trophy
Group 2, 50s Competition Cars:  Lime Rock Challenge
Group 3, Porsche 911 and 914:  Klubsport Kup
Group 4, Best of British Production Sports: Chairmans Chalice
Group 5, F. Ford & F. Junior:  Starter’s Delight; Group 5a, F. Ford:  The Stimola Memorial
Group 6, Abarths & Alfas Galore:  The Turin Tankard
Group 7, Wild, Wild Horses - Big Bore Production:  Detroit Dilemma
Group 8, Speedy, Eclectic Mix: Sports Racing Cars:  The Bennett Bowl
Group 9, Minis Against the Rest:  Giant's Despair
Group 10, Memories of Gilles, F2/Formula Atlantic:  Fabulous Formulas

New this year is the addition of Connecticut’s most famous food festival, A Taste of the Litchfield Hills, which brings dozens of the area’s finest eating establishments together under one giant “roof” in the Midway & Expo for your exquisite eating enjoyment.

On Sunday, September 5, the spectacular “Sunday in the Park” Concours & Car Show will be set up on the track. The judged Concours entrants will take over the entire front straight, while the “Gathering of the Clubs” entrants will fill the track from Big Bend to West Bend. There were more than 700 vehicles at Sunday in the Park last year, and we expect near that same number this year.

Want the full Historics experience? Then think about getting a VIP Fan Hospitality ticket (Saturday or Monday – or both!), which includes admission to the track, prime viewing from the big Fan Hospitality Tent, food, drink, special guest appearances, an event bag, personal paddock tours, souvenir programs and much more.
