Yvonne C. Spisto: the campers, we're all like family here

I have been going to the races at Lime Rock Park with my family for over 22 years consecutively.  My actual first time at the track was in my mothers stomach!  My family attended the races in 1984 while my mom was 6 months pregnant with me.  My parents have been going for much longer then 2 years though.  My dad can’t even remember how long it’s been for him.  Through my 22 years I have practically grown up at the race park.  I remember sitting on the big hill to watch the cars in the rain, sunshine, cold, wind and whatever else the weather had in store for us.  My little brother and I would race out Matchbox cars on our blanket while my dad took pictures of us and the race cars.

Even though I have moved from Connecticut, I meet up with my family and their campers for every event.  Through the years you get to know so many of the other campers that come every time.  We’re all like a family there.  I’ve made so many friends at the track and we always keep in touch.  Lime Rock Park is a way of life for myself, my family, and all the other campers who gather each year to watch the racing.  One day I will bring my children to watch, continuing a tradition of sorts.  Lime Rock Park is an exciting and beautiful place to be and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.
