Peter R. Stricker: year after year my daughter still comes...

My daughter Gretchen’s first race track to attend was at Lime Rock Park 15 years ago on Memorial Day Weekend.  She was about 7 months old and we brought up a small baby pool for her to play in.  Year after year Gretchen has come to Lime Rock to see the races, sometimes 3 times a year.  We attended the Porsche Rennsport weekend a few years back and Gretchen was able to get all the former Porsche team driver autographs on her hat.  Many people saw the hat and wanted to purchase it.  She would not sell it and she still has it.  

On another race weekend, Mr. Leo Mandel, editor of Autoweek Magazine was there.  My daughter asked him for his autograph and then thanked him.  Mr. Mandel said, and I quote, “No, thank you for asking me.”  Another weekend, Brian Redman was there and Gretchen asked him for his autograph.  Not only did Mr. Redman graciously sign his name with some thoughts, but he gave her a ride on the golf cart he was driving.
