Legends of Lime Rock Park

It’s amazing what a little mile and a half strip of pavement nestled in the woods can attract.

For fans and drivers alike, the nearly hypnotizing lap of Lime Rock has challenged and thrilled over a million times in the last fifty years.

A simply amazing place in the world, Lime Rock Park has brought out truly special people for fifty years.  And they brought some interesting cars along…

Every legend has put their stamp and added to the lore of the track, and likewise, the lure of the track has brought them back year after year again.

From the Porsche 962 powered by the genius of Al Holbert, to the last ride of the ultra-triumphant Audi R8,  to the magnificent custom-built Ferrari P4/5 of James Glickenhaus, some legendary machinery has been wheeled around Lime Rock Park.

From Roger Penske--who put his name on the Track Record list as a driver twice before coming back as an owner to head up Porsche’s return to prototypes in the American LeMans Series—To Old Blue Eyes, Paul Newman, continuing to astonish with a Lime Rock Park victory in the rain at the ripe young age of 70, the list of legends is as long as it is astonishing.

Who are your Legends of Lime Rock Park?

"One person you should add to the legends section is my dad, Paul Corazzo, Sr.  He raced many different cars at Lime Rock Park over the years and won many races and championships in the SCCA.  Even though he is racing sprint cars now, his love is still at Lime Rock.  My brother, Paul, Jr., and myself were raised in the padock of Lime Rock Park.  It was our second home growing up.  The memories we have are countless and deep.  Dad always says he wants to go back and run Big Bend or the Esses again.  If he does, my brother and I will be there clinging to fence we hung onto so many years ago..."
