Car Shows, Firework Celebration and Community Events Return to Lime Rock Park in 2024

Lime Rock Park is gearing up to welcome back local residents and enthusiasts in 2024. In addition to a variety of professional and club racing events, the iconic venue will once again play host to several Community Events, adding a vast array of activities for the whole family to enjoy while also raising money for local charities.

In 2023, the Community Events held at Lime Rock Park attracted thousands of new and returning fans to experience the track from a different perspective, ultimately raising thousands of dollars for local charities in the process.

“Lime Rock Park has a longstanding tradition of supporting local communities and charitable causes,” said Lime Rock Park President Dicky Riegel. “The addition of the Community Events to the calendar reaffirms the track’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond the race track and improving the lives of those in need within our community.”

Salisbury Rotary Club Firework Show Returns

After a hiatus in 2023, the Salisbury Rotary Club will return to Lime Rock Park to host its popular Independence Day Firework Celebration on July 6. Commemorating its 75th anniversary, the Salisbury Rotary Club plans on making this year’s firework celebration even bigger for the local community with vendors, live music and great food, plus much more.  The rain date is set for July 7.

Spend Sundays at The Park

FCP Euro returns to Lime Rock Park this season for the popular Sunday Motoring Meet, part of the Sundays at The Park series. The diverse series of free car shows and gatherings held throughout the spring and summer at Lime Rock Park will showcase a variety of marques that will be announced at a later date.  Last year, thousands of local enthusiasts attended the events, with an average participant entry of around 600 cars per meet.

The Sundays at The Park series will also showcase the Royals’ Garage Car Show on May 26. The Lime Rock Concours and Gathering of the Marques Sunday in The Park will display nearly 1,000 enthusiast cars and motorcycles arranged around the Lime Rock circuit on September 1.

What is the Secret?

For more than 20 years, thousands of horticulturalists, garden and antique lovers alike, including Martha Stewart, have traveled to Connecticut to experience the wonders of Trade Secrets™. 2024 marks the third season that the “garden event of the year” has been held at Lime Rock Park and will be in full bloom on May 19. Trade Secrets is a rare plant, garden and antiques sale that benefits Project SAGE, formerly the Women’s Support Services, a non-profit organization founded in 1981 that provides services to persons in the northwest corner of Connecticut who have experienced domestic violence or abuse. Fans can expect to enjoy shopping from over 50 specialty plant and antique vendors and take tours of extraordinary public and private gardens around the area.

Vote for Connecticut’s Best Craft Beer
The Connecticut Craft Beer Grand Prix, a new fan favorite event, will return to Lime Rock Park bigger and better on May 26th from noon-4 p.m. as part of the Trans Am Memorial Day Classic.

Curated by Great Falls Brewing Co. and Lime Rock Park, the ultimate craft beer experience allows fans to discover the best brews in the state and meet the talented brewers behind them while supporting Miles & Smiles for Hadley, a new local charity partner this year that raises money for local families who have a child with a disability to help pay for services, therapies, etc. The Connecticut Craft Beer Grand Prix is the first, and only, professional beer competition to showcase the outstanding quality and variety of Connecticut’s craft beers.

Strut a Mutt
Pooches will prance around Lime Rock Park June 9 for the Great Country Mutt Show. The Great Country Mutt Show is a Westminster-style Mutt Show that showcases dogs of all breeds and creeds. From “the best mask” to “the best lapdog over 40 pounds” to “the sweetest pair,” there are multiple chances for fans’ beloved dogs to take to the ring. While the doggy competition is in action, attendees can enjoy several other activities including a pet and owner fashion show, an auction, raffles, live music, food trucks and more. The event is free and open to the public and will benefit the Little Guild Animal Rescue in Cornwall, Connecticut.

Bring a Kilt
The Litchfield Hills Highland Games will be held at Lime Rock Park on September 29 for a day of classic Scottish competitions, including heavy athletics, clan and society gatherings, pipe bands, Scottish and other vendors, Scottish food and drink, faux haggis toss, children’s games, events and crafts, Scottish-inspired craft beer and whisky tasting, Kilted Mile for adults and youth, Scottish musical entertainment, Highland Coo, British cars and motorbikes and falconry and herding.

An Epic Ride
Based from the legendary Lime Rock Park in Connecticut’s Litchfield County, the Lime Rock Epic gravel fondo will weave through waterfalls and covered bridges, showcasing the region’s autumn splendor on October 13. Set for its third year, organizers developed a dirt road tour to establish a cornerstone for a spectacular cycling weekend in the Berkshires.

The event will offer three options: The “Epic” will be a 68-mile route with nearly 6,000 feet of climbing and 13 unpaved sectors; the “Explorer” will be a 46-mile route with nearly 4,000 feet of climbing and 10 unpaved sectors. Organizers will also offer a gentle 18-mile “Express” route with just two easy dirt road sectors for beginners and novices.
