Taste of Litchfield Hills
A 25-year Connecticut tradition that was suspended in 2009 due to a last-minute venue issue has been brought back to life thanks in part to Historic Festival 28 at Lime Rock Park September 3-6.
“A Taste of the Litchfield Hills” is Connecticut's oldest food and wine festival and has been invited by Lime Rock Historics Chairman Murray Smith to conduct its popular event during the Labor Day vintage racing and Sunday concours extravaganza. The food and wine festival had, in all its previous years, been held at various vineyards in Litchfield County, Conn.
Buying a weekend ticket to Historic Festival 28, or a Saturday, Sunday or Monday ticket, gets you entry into A Taste of the Litchfield Hills at Lime Rock Park. The other way to look at it is, with the admission into the facility for A Taste of the Litchfield Hills festival, you get to watch the race action or stroll the Sunday Concours for free!
The oldest food festival of its kind in the state, the event annually attracted thousands of attendees to sample fine fare prepared by chefs from local restaurants, inns and bistros. A Taste of the Litchfield Hills festival will continue its tradition of spotlighting the region’s outstanding food and wine purveyors, plus offering live musical entertainment and an outdoor bazaar featuring artisan crafts, gourmet food products and unique gifts.

WHO'S ON TRACK? (Want to see the race-group schedules for the Festival? Click here.)
The Lime Rock crew is in the midst of getting ready for Historic Festival 28, A Taste of the Litchfield Hills and Sunday in the Park this weekend. If you're wondering about "Earl," bear in mind that Lime Rock Park is in the Northwest Corner and we might not even see rain. If we do, it will be on Friday. Saturday, Sunday and Monday are looking really good.
